OVERCLOCKED 4: World of Tanks

What is a PC Gamers favorite four letter word?

While many colorful and inventive responses come to mind, the one I'm looking for is: "FREE"!

Wargaming.net's upcoming MMO World of Tanks is exactly that, free.

This highly anticipated upcoming tank vs. tank MMO is sure to provide gamers with days, months and years of fun. Did I mention it's free!

Wargaming.net CEO Victor Kislyi was kind enough to come on Overclocked recently and give us the run down on the new game.

World of Tanks is a Massive Multiplayer Online game which is sure to be a hit among PC Gamers. The game focuses on tank warfare from just before World War II to just before Vietnam -- the glory days of tank warfare.

You can take to the battlefield in dozens of different tanks in classes such as light, medium, heavy, mobile artillery and more.

Wargaming.net has done their homework on the world's tanks and you can expect they are an accurate representation of the real thing.

Want to see what to expect? Just check out this video from YouTube:

Like all MMO's, experience points are key in World of Tanks.

You gain your experience by winning battles as well as providing various support functions within the game. With your experience you get new tanks and new add-ons. Unlike many other MMO's there is no XP grinding. There is only one way to advance, fight!

Driving your tank couldn't be easier. Instead of a complex array of controls like you see with many simulators, World of Tanks makes sure your able to jump right in to the action right away.

While the game is free, there is an opportunity to get more out of World of Tanks. Wargaming.net has implemented a system of micro-transactions to help just with that. Having trouble killing that big Tiger Tank? No problem. Just head to the in-game store and pick up some armor piercing ammo for a small price and get a huge reward next time you see that Tiger in flames.

World of Tanks is built for clans. Like a majority of MMO's you can survive by yourself, but if you are looking to get the full experience you need to team up with other players. In clan-mode you move away from random battles and into conquering and protecting your territory on a massive battlefield. Gather your troops and become a true tank commander.

Finally, if you are worried that this game is just another fire-and-forget MMO, you couldn't be more wrong. Wargaming.net has said they will be continuing support on this game for years to come. All of their employees are focused on World of Tanks, so you know it will continue to be a top priority.

World of Tanks is currently in beta testing so it's not out just yet, but you can still get in the action. Head over to the World of Tanks website and sign up for the beta. Remember the game is free, so you have no excuse not to try this one out. Even if you are not the MMO type, World of Tanks offers an addictive gameplay and constant action and that is something every gamer can enjoy.

OVERCLOCKED 3: StarCraft II

OVERCLOCKED is back and we return with "One of the greatest PC games of all-time". StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty

The game released July 2010 to the excitment of PC gamers everywhere. Whether or not you have every played the game if you know anything about PC games, you know StarCraft.

Blizzard's epic Real-Time Strategy (RTS) game is one of the best selling games of all-time at just over 10 million copies sold (and that is ONLY PC).

Such an epic game deserves an epic cast, so we sat down with Legion a former competitive StarCraft player and NateDogg a burgeoning StarCraft competition guru to talk about StarCraft II and what it means not only to fanboys but to the average PC gamer.

The original StarCraft was released by Blizzard (now Activision/Blizzard) in 1998. It has since moved on to win countless awards and even been called one of the greatest games of all-time. StarCraft II continues the legacy of the original and it has big shoes to fill. Try and name another game that has spawned 2 competitive TV channels and 8 novels. You can’t. But StarCraft has.

For those of you who have never seen StarCraft or StarCraft II here is a quick YouTube vid on what your missing.

StarCraft was one of the first games to develop matchmaking. The development of Battle.net was revolutionary for its time and has been the basis for other matchmaking systems. Battle.net in StarCraft II has received a major upgrade and will become the backbone for all future Blizzard titles. Don’t believe me? Listen to Blizzard explain it themselves:

It’s always hard to know what to expect from a game, but with StarCraft you know you are getting a quality product. Not only has Blizzard taken years to develop this latest release, they are notorious for supporting their games long after they have been launched, even releasing a patch for StarCraft: Brood War only a few short years ago.

Regarding the competitive aspect of StarCraft, there is hands down no other game like it. The competitive scene especially in South Korea is like nothing any other game currently experiences. In South Korea there are TV channels dedicated to rebroadcasting StarCraft matches and there have been StarCraft players known to pull in over 200k just from playing. So what does a competitive game look like? Legion and NateDogg suggested you watch a video by HDStarCraft and his commentary on a match.

The game is polished. It is balanced. It is certainly something every PC gamer should have in their library. Whether your a hardcore competition gamer or just someone who plays every so often, StarCraft II has been designed for you.

But don't just take my word for it. Listen to the cast and hear what guys who actually have played the game are saying.

OVERCLOCKED 2: Primal Carnage

"...I think this game is gonna scare the crap out of me" - JagFiveO

Have you ever thought what would a game be like if instead of player vs. player it was player vs. dinosaur? If so, then indie developer Lukewarm Media has just the game for you, Primal Carnage.

Primal Carnage puts you right in the middle of an all out war of man vs. dinosaur. Instead of bringing you 200 million years to the past and arming you with sticks and stone, the dinosaurs are brought to you via an experiment gone wrong. Now this is not your daddy's FPS game either. While you duke it out against the dinosaurs be sure to remember there is a guy controlling that dino who wants to crush you just as badly. Wait. What did I just say? Yes, you can control the dinosaurs.

Primal Carnage is also sporting some of the best graphics around thanks to Unigine and the sound is awesome as well. DX9, DX10, DX11? Whatever you can support Primal Carnage is for you. It will punish those of you who think you have great systems, but still be easy enough to run for those who haven't upgraded in a while.

Think you've got what it takes to be top dinosaur or top dino-killer? Listen to the cast to find out and head on over to www.primalcarnage.com to sign up for their beta and find out.

Oh and did I mention there will be mods?
